It’s been a while that I wanted to start a Blog, but my lack of technology knowledge has been
the reason for me not doing it…
Thanks to my friend Ema, for making this a reality!!!
My culinary story begins in Rome Italy where I fell in love with the food and the passion of the Italians living everyday and celebrating every occasion around food!!! I travel to Italy often and every time I am still learning so much about the culture and the food that goes with it, so you will be seeing plenty of dishes with Italian food in this blog, non the less I have traveled enough in Europe, Caribbean Islands and South America to have found amazing ingredients and dishes to lighten my palate and having grown up in Chicago, lived in New Orleans and South Florida has definitely broaden my culinary library!!!
After 30 some years of my culinary passion, schooling, and practice, having a Catering Co. "Kim's and Ellory's Kitchen" in the Chicago area, also managing and as Executive Chef in Boutique Hotels "The Parisian Courtyard Inn" and "The Terrell House" in New Orleans, I am finally going to write my story through food… In the past years, I just told my story to a few, always having someone say: “Why don’t you write a book?” … Well, I am no writer, but I can for sure share my favorite foods with a little story on how I came about these recipes…
I want to encourage the new cooks that cooking doesn’t have to be complicated, there are so many recipes that are easy, simple, and delicious, and will probably take less time to make than waiting for a take-out or a delivery… And some, once you get the hang of it, will be more time consuming but when we start understanding food and how we can make it in our own way it becomes and adventure where we don’t mind spending time having!!!
