Chicken Makhani
This is called Butter chicken a Traditional Indian dish, but funny there is really no butter in it… I really love the flavors it brings and very family friendly since has many spices and not heat!!! Great served with Basmati Rice…
Makes 6 – 8 oz portions
Ingredients:
6 ea. Chicken Thighs
Salt & Pepper to season Chicken
2 Tbsp. Garlic/Ginger paste
½ tsp. Kosher Salt
3 ea Tomatoes medium, chopped
1 ea Onion, chopped.
2 Tbsp Fenugreek leaves
2 tsp Coriander Powder
2 tsp Chili Powder
2 tsp Tandoori Powder
2 tsp Garam Masala Powder
2 tsp Turmeric Powder
4 Tbsp Olive Oil or Ghee
½ tsp Kosher Salt, to taste
Instruction:
Make Garlic/Ginger paste by grating the garlic and Ginger with the ½ tsp of Salt. Set aside.
In a large pan, heat oil add garlic/Ginger paste and cook a minute or 2 on Med-High heat.
Add Chicken and let it cook until golden on both sides. 5 min per side. Take Chicken out and keep warm.
Add onions sauté a couple minutes. Add Tomatoes to the pan and cook 5 -7 minutes.
Add Fenugreek and rest of spices. Mix well and let the flavors mingle.
Add Yogurt and mix well once well blended you can put the whole sauce in a blender to make it nice and silky or leave it as I do, because I like it as it is!!!
Add Chicken to the pan and cook 30 min. Turning the chicken halfway through. Serve Hot!!!
