Kim’s Kitchen

Chicken Makhani

This is called Butter chicken a Traditional Indian dish, but funny there is really no butter in it… I really love the flavors it brings and very family friendly since has many spices and not heat!!! Great served with Basmati Rice…

Makes 6 – 8 oz portions

Ingredients:

6 ea. Chicken Thighs

Salt & Pepper to season Chicken

2 Tbsp. Garlic/Ginger paste

½ tsp. Kosher Salt

3 ea Tomatoes medium, chopped

1 ea Onion, chopped.

2 Tbsp Fenugreek leaves

2 tsp Coriander Powder

2 tsp Chili Powder

2 tsp Tandoori Powder

2 tsp Garam Masala Powder

2 tsp Turmeric Powder

4 Tbsp Olive Oil or Ghee

½ tsp Kosher Salt, to taste

Instruction:

Make Garlic/Ginger paste by grating the garlic and Ginger with the ½ tsp of Salt. Set aside.

In a large pan, heat oil add garlic/Ginger paste and cook a minute or 2 on Med-High heat.

Add Chicken and let it cook until golden on both sides. 5 min per side. Take Chicken out and keep warm.

Add onions sauté a couple minutes. Add Tomatoes to the pan and cook 5 -7 minutes.

Add Fenugreek and rest of spices. Mix well and let the flavors mingle.

Add Yogurt and mix well once well blended you can put the whole sauce in a blender to make it nice and silky or leave it as I do, because I like it as it is!!!

Add Chicken to the pan and cook 30 min. Turning the chicken halfway through. Serve Hot!!!
