Apple Puff Pastries

These Apple Pastry Bundles do not disappoint. Very easy to make and delicious, can be eaten Warm or room temperature. Great for entertaining. An American comfort food flavor in a couple bites.

18 Portions / 18 Servings

Ingredients:

2 Sheet Pastry Puff

2-3 Apples, peeled, cored and diced very small.

2 Tbsp Butter

½ C Raw Sugar

2 Tbsp Flour

½ tsp Cinnamon Grounded

1 pinch Salt

2 Tbsp Water

1 egg, whisked for brushing

Instruction:

1.              Unwrap and prepare puff pastry to package directions. Allow to defrost for 20 minutes.

2.              Preheat oven to 375 F/190 C.

3.              In a bowl, combine Sugar, Flour, Cinnamon and Salt. Mix all and add apples, toss until evenly coated.

4.              In a nonstick pan, add Butter, Apples, Mixture and 2 Tbsp of Water. Cook on low, stirring occasionally so mixture doesn’t stick. Add water if mixture becomes too thick, 1 tablespoon at a time.

5.              Mixture will be done when apples are tender. About 10 minutes. Allow to cool.

6.              On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry dough keeping the square shape as intact as possible. Cut into 9 squares.

Sautee Shallots with Olive Oil, salt and Pepper.

7.              Add apple mixture to the middle of each square and you should have enough filling to fold 1/3 towards the to, sealing the sides and then closing the top over, again sealing the sides. Set with the overlapped facing the bottom on the pan. Make 3 slits on the top of each one.

8.              For egg wash, combine egg white and 1 tablespoon of water, whisk together, and them brush onto each square.

9.              Bake for about 20 minutes at 375 F/ 190 C degrees or until nice a golden brown.
